Day One 04062026 – Travel and Base Camp Established
Another one of our foreign escapades, heading off to lovely places in the Netherlands to camp, perform and have an excellent Morris time together. Three cars, three tents, one motorhome and one caravan (the Mothership for the visit) arrived on various ferries on Thursday. P&O breakfasts were to die for….but not in a good way. The horrors of the Antwerp Ring Road were either avoided or endured before we got to ‘home’, the De Groune Donk campsite, small and lovely and green, to be welcomed again by hosts Martien and Clementine.
Tents up, ‘vans setup and a few essentials (beer and flowers) acquired. The beers included some 10 percenters – a definite theme for the weekend…..
Off into Ian’s Mothership to avoid some pretty hefty showers for homemade chilli, 10% beers, garlic bread, scotch and conversation both drivel and weighty (with emphasis on the former). And to bed…
