We attended the funeral of Andy Young at St Peters Church, Yateley on 1st November. Andy was one of our own, joining the boys side many years ago and then progressing into the men’s side. We came, by request, in full kit – bells on, but hats off in church.
Tim, the vicar at St Peters, spoke very relevantly on the subject of Christian hope to a packed church. The lads, including many who had travelled some distances, lined up outside the church and gave a ‘stick salute’ as Andy and friends and family left the church.
A short set of dancing took place in the courtyard at the D&P, followed by some music led by Andy’s family
We shall greatly miss Andy in so many ways. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ian and Janet, and the whole family.
