It poured down all day, but mercifully stopped just before we started off.
White Hart is a gorgeous pub, with options for dancing – garden, front or car park. Car park it was. Some rusty old dancing to start with (Fool shouting: ‘they all need a couple of pints of WD40 down the back of their trousers’. Apologies to one very nice lady who came out to watch…who had never seen morris dancing.
The dancing quickly improved to ‘rather good’ level with plenty of levity and not a little mucking about. Fieldtown looking good, Eynsham stickie as well. Our nice lady stayed to the end and clearly enjoyed what she had seen giving an unsolicited large note to the squire. Very long discussion about railway options to get to Portsmouth on Saturday.

On to the Frog & Wicket, very different style of pub. A few folks came out, including a lovely long term supporter and a family, including one young lady seeking a lively morris side to dance with!
A good set was danced with plenty of banter. Magnificent lines and sticking captured in a photo. David played ‘Bold Nelson’s Praise’ (Ilmington) for Baz, Paul and Ross. The Brute declined to come out, apparently too damp for his delicate hooves…..
A very pleasant, laid back evening on our home turf. As we went in to the pub, the rain started to sweep in across our dancing area…
