14052024 Waggon & Horses, Hartley Wintney

Another warm and sunny evening at the W&H – a favourite pub of ours, morris friendly and popular with other sides. Plenty of passersby in HW …who kept on passing by….

Plenty of dancing as we honed our repertoire, sort of… Black Joke Ilmington is a tricky handclapping  dance and fell to bits quickly! Most of the dancing was very good, even spirited in parts.

Baz and Ross danced a double jig, both doing Ladies Pleasure at the same time, Baz doing the Bledington version, Ross doing the Fieldtown version and  David playing. Rather good.

Clan Young provided the bulk of our audience who regarded the  energetic antics of the beast with great caution….

STOP PRESS!

Whisper it quietly. YMM perform Cotswold morris and have in the past fielded a Longsword side and a NW Clog side…..but rumour has it that some of the lads are working on something new, perhaps a return to these or something new…?

Off to Chippenham next!
