090822 Cricks and Anchor, Yateley

YMM have a a long history with both pubs, both have been our ‘home’ pub at various times. Some of us remember with horror Morlands Bitter at the Cricks and others remember with great fondness cooked breakfasts on Mayday at the Anchor.

Busy Cricks, usual uninspiring Greene King range, with a group of lively lads, lots of family and friends outside on picnic benches. Some of which we shuffled round to create a dancing spot in the middle of our audience. Sound dancing to much appreciation, the Horse much LESS appreciated – ‘get it away from me’! He sulked.

Fool’s colourful waistcoat much commented on, freed a few years ago from the Wardrobe of Stapleton. Some light drizzle….or was it the Fool with a water pistol. Rob A’s damp frontal patches were very obvious…… revenge promised. Gabrielle Clarke managed to soak the poor Fool in general revenge!

Leftover from last week!

The Anchor, our home on a Tuesday night for many years, often shared with darts matches so the pub was packed, also supper – chip, pizza, sausage. Immaculate pub and garden and a warm welcome from the lovely Di. A bit quiet – sort of serene and peaceful as the velvet dusk of a fine Yateley evening settled gently over the pub…. Fool asked to dial the bellowing down a notch or two….not sure if he can though….

Contented thrashing away, up and down the slope.
