The weather was fine on 7th June 2024 as family and friends gathered at Easthampstead to pay respects to Keith Thompson, a founder member of the Yateley Morris men.
Some of the Yateley old boys came along in a passive mood but a sprightly, Monty. shared the occasion of his seventy ninth birthday and joined in as the side danced Highland Mary.
Many of Keith’s family had come from overseas and others were able to see the gathering via a video stream. As with most funerals, we really don’t know the person until a family member recounts their life. Who would have guessed that ‘Quiet Keith’ had such an adventurous life, which involved jobs and family holidays across most of the world continents.
The wake was at the Dog and Partridge in Yateley with more chatting and dancing.
Who knows when when we will all meet again….perhaps in 2025 when the fifty year anniversary of Yateley morris pops up.
